Working From Home Was Causing Shoulder Pain
The Problem
A client attended with shoulder pain that had gradually developed after months of working from home.
Lifting, reaching and prolonged computer work were becoming uncomfortable.
What We Found
Assessment showed that workstation setup, prolonged sitting and muscle imbalance were contributing to the symptoms.
The shoulder itself was healthy, but it was working harder than it needed to because of poor posture and reduced upper back strength.
Treatment
Treatment included:
✔ Physiotherapy assessment
✔ Hands-on treatment
✔ Strengthening exercises
✔ Workstation advice
✔ Movement and mobility exercises
The Outcome
Pain reduced significantly and daily activities became much easier.
The client felt more comfortable both at work and outside of work.
The Take Home Message
Sometimes the problem isn't the shoulder itself.
The way we work, sit and move throughout the day can play a huge role in pain and recovery.
